The framework in two minutes
Most AI programmes do not stall because the technology fails. They stall because the organisation around it is not ready.
The data cannot support scale. Governance exists in policy but not in daily operation. Nobody can show the value an initiative delivered, only that it launched.
VERA answers one question: are the foundations in place to scale AI safely, and where exactly are they thin?
Seven weighted dimensions. The framework examines the whole organisation, not only its technology: Data Foundation & Management (18%), Technology & AI Infrastructure (17%), AI Governance, Ethics & Risk (15%), People, Culture & Skills (13%), Business Processes & Operations (13%), Strategy & Value Realisation (12%) and Customer & Service Experience (12%). Data carries the most weight because, in the framework's design judgement, weak data foundations are the constraint that most often stops AI scaling after a successful pilot.
Fifty indicators, five written levels. Each of the 50 core indicators is scored against five descriptors, from Level 1 (absent) to Level 5 (optimised). Participants choose the description that is true today, not the one that is planned.
Evidence, not assumption. Any rating above Level 3 must rest on an artefact an assessor has actually seen: an approved policy, a register, a dashboard, board minutes. Without one, the rating is capped at Level 3. Self-reported and evidence-capped scores are reported side by side, and the gap between them is itself a finding.
Depth where it matters. Seven optional deep-dive modules add detail only where the core scores show it is needed: Generative AI & LLM Readiness, MLOps & AI Engineering, AI Security, Responsible AI & Regulatory Compliance, AI Procurement & Vendor Management, a Sector Overlay, and ISO/IEC 42001 readiness.
Anchored in recognised frameworks. ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and the EU AI Act, alongside GCC guidance from SDAIA, the NCA and the UAE AI Charter.
What the framework produces. An overall readiness score between 1.0 and 5.0, the stage it falls into, a profile across the seven dimensions, and the gap between what an organisation reports and what it can evidence.
Where to start. Take the free 15–20 minute online screening for an indicative view, see how the VERA AI Readiness Assessment Survey applies the framework, or request a free executive briefing to walk through it with your team.
